This is a full-time category II faculty position with a focus on teaching and advising. The faculty member will carry a full time teaching load of 15 credit hours per academic semester, which may include teaching evenings, weekends, and online courses. This position requires teaching courses in the fire and emergency services administration curriculum. Other duties include advising students in academic planning, graduate school and career exploration and developing relationships in the fire and emergency service communities at a local, regional, and national level. The successful candidate will have experience working with students from diverse populations including students of color, students with disabilities, students with diverse gender and sexual identities, students of various ages, and students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.

Required Qualifications

A Masters degree in Human Services, Fire Science or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

A minimum of 10 years full-time employment in a first responder role.

Evidence of successful teaching in an institution of higher education with at least one year teaching fire or first responder coursework in the last five years.

Experience in Fire/Arson Investigation

A minimum of 5 years experience as a company officer or other command position in an organization providing first responder services
