To help support the work of the University, we have an opening for a Coordinator of Residence Life & Student Activities – Eden Hall Campus.  The Coordinator of Residence Life & Student Activities – Eden Hall Campus reports to the Director of Residence Life & Student Activities.

This full-time, 12-month, live-on position oversees residence life and student activities and serves as the primary student affairs administrator on Chatham’s Eden Hall Campus. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Falk School of Sustainability and Environment to build a comprehensive living-learning community focused on sustainability. Supervise, select, mentor student staff and assist with the recruitment and selection of staff. Manage housing operations for Orchard Hall on the Eden Hall Campus. Oversee the planning and implementation of programs, with direct responsibility for the coordination and development of student activities and events for both residential and commuter students. Assist with the management of Eden Hall community outreach and conference services/housing. Create sustainability programming for both the Eden Hall and Shadyside campuses. Serve in the on-call duty rotation, be the first responder at Eden Hall and provide crisis response as needed. Perform other duties and special projects as requested and assigned by the Director of Residence Life & Student Activities, Assistant Dean of Students, and/or Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students.

Qualifications: 

Master’s degree in higher education administration or related field with minimum of 1 year of graduate or professional work experience in residence life, student development and/or campus activities. Comprehensive understanding, appreciation and support of student life at a small, private institution and a commitment to improving the lives of students. Demonstrated understanding of sustainability leadership and initiatives. Experience in planning outdoor activities in a rural setting (i.e. outdoor educator, camp counselor, etc.). Experience working with international students. Have acquired knowledge, experiences and involvement in student development, program/project management, counseling students, and conversing with parents. Ability to manage ambiguity and work in autonomous environment. Sound judgement and ability to resolve student issues and crisis situations effectively. Preferred Mandarin speaking.
