The Access Services Librarian is responsible for managing daily operations of the circulation, reserves, and stacks maintenance areas of the library. The position provides library instruction and reference services, manages the library's archive, and provides copyright information and assistance to the college community.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution required.

Minimum of three years of library experience, including experience with circulation, reference, and library instruction.

Minimum of one year of supervisory experience required.

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills required that will lead to forming collaborative and supportive relationships in support of student success, student engagement, and equity initiatives.

Demonstrated ability to work collegially as a team member in a diverse and changing environment required, including experience in working with a diverse student body and/or library patrons who may be underprepared for academic work, returning to college as adults, or first generation college students.

Demonstrated ability to be innovative and flexible required.

Demonstrated commitment to customer service and the philosophy of a community college required.

Ability and willingness to work flexible shifts to meet the needs of the library required. One evening per week required.

Ability to work tactfully and effectively with a diverse patron base, including students, staff, faculty, and community patrons.

Experience with Microsoft office and current library technology required.



Preferred Qualifications:

Basic knowledge of copyright and intellectual property preferred.

Basic knowledge of archives preferred.



Hours per Week: 40

Work Schedule: M-F, generally 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, one evening required.
