Job Description Summary:
ColonialTemps is seeking a highly organized Operations Manager for Trainings and Special Events to manage contract execution, purchase orders, and reconciliation of event invoicing. The successful candidate’s primary focus will be to assist the Center for Excellence in Public Leadership team in the execution of their 6-month contract with alarge federal government agency. Additional duties include organizing small events (such as trainings and workshops) and meetings, as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will have some experience in trainings and/or events planning, including Request for Proposals and contract negotiation skills, meeting room set-ups, meal planning, audio visual set ups, and registration
procedures. Candidates should also have excellent customer relations skills, the ability to manage financial reports, maintain quality standards and meet deadlines under a heavy workload. Excellent verbal and written
communication skills are required.
Candidates should also be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word,
Excel, Outlook, and Access), technology savvy and have the ability to master new computer systems.
A minimum of two years (2) of experience including trainings and events is required. Knowledge of the event and/or hospitality industry, and/or negotiating with external contractors is key.
A four-year college degree and demonstrated success in managing outside contractors are required.
