I. JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description Summary:

The School of Medicine and Health Sciences at the George Washington University is currently seeking an Administrative Coordinator for the Office of Student Affairs. The Administrative Coordinator for Student Affairs is the primary point of contact for third-year medical students and provides comprehensive administrative support for two Associate Deans. As the coordinator for the third-year medical students the role supports the "Fundamentals of Clinical Practice" phase of the medical school curriculum which is the required clerkship phase.
Responsibilities Include:
• Manages third year medical student course and site scheduling through home built lottery system.
• Provides point support for third year medical students, and assist all other medical students
• Liaises with clinical course coordinators and directors to facilitate acquisition and preparation of various reports, evaluations, and databases
• Provides primary administrative support for two deans in student and curricular affairs for appointment scheduling, document preparation and other student affairs or related activities; and supports three other deans as necessary with administrative functions.
• Tracks and coordinates medical student required clearances and certifications (such as EMR access, background checks, drug certifications, hospital badges, etc).
• Serves as back up MedHub (or similar medical education management system) administrator to manage electronic tracking databases for medical student case logging, duty hours, and evaluations
• Serves as Chief Proctor for National Board of Medical Examiners exams and proctor exams for all years; Coordinate the ordering and proctoring of exams and work with faculty and students on any special accommodations needed
• Maintains, tracks, and executes affiliation agreements between The George Washington University and clerkship sites, including hospitals and clinics; Work with GW's General Counsel & Risk Management to ensure accuracy and timeliness of agreements
• Performs other work related duties as assigned - omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of training and experience, is necessary plus 3 years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree.

Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

- Strong customer service skills

- Detail-orientated

- Experience providing administrative support

- Experience managing large volumes of data electronically

- Experience in Student Affairs and/or a University setting
