Degree and Area of Specialization: Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience: - Five years experience in admissions, or related work in higher education.
- Demonstrated excellence in planning and implementing programs utilizing volunteers.
- Previous work with alumni recruitment and/or volunteer coordination.
- Ability to manage a recruitment territory and review applications.
- Experience in attracting recruiting, admitting and enrolling students at a selective institution and/or in a high volume admissions office preferred.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Experience speaking to both small and large groups and strong interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to travel in and out of state and work irregular hours. Evening and weekend work required during peak times.
- Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and collaborate with colleagues in other departments.
- Capacity to work in a high volume, fast-paced office.
- Strong facility with the use of computers, office software applications, and database systems.
- Knowledge of the University of Wisconsin-Madison preferred.

License or certificate: This position involves travel. A valid driver's license and good driving record is required to operate a state vehicle or secure a rental vehicle for out of state travel.

Position Summary: The Alumni Relations Manager will assist in developing and sustaining alumni engagement in support of prospective student recruitment efforts. This person will serve as liaison to the Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA). The Alumni Relations Manager will recruit and train new volunteers who will participate in freshman and transfer student recruitment efforts at targeted college fair programs, high impact yield events, and prospective student recruitment events. This person represents and recruits for the University of Wisconsin-Madison by traveling in-state and out-of-state to meet the enrollment goals of the university. This position will have staff supervisory responsibility and reports to the Senior Associate Director of Admission for Recruitment and Outreach.

The incumbent will join a team that represents the university to freshman, transfer, multicultural and international prospective students, with a goal of attracting, recruiting, admitting, and enrolling a talented, geographically diverse student body.

The academic staff position (PVL 90325) is available immediately with a desired start date of June 1, 2017. A competitive salary and benefits package will be offered with salary dependent on qualifications. The minimum starting salary is $50,000.
