Degree and Area of Specialization: PhD required; preferably in Statistics, Biostatistics or Biometry.



Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience: A minimum of 5 years as a consulting statistician in a biological/medical research setting is preferred. Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with researchers concerning statistical design, execution, and analysis of studies. Proficiency at presenting and communicating technical research findings, as demonstrated through scientific presentations and reviewed publications. Expert knowledge of and at least 5 years experience with statistical software (SAS or comparable package) is preferred.



Position Summary: We are looking for an individual to be responsible for consulting, planning, and executing statistical analyses for various research projects. This individual will collaborate with physicians and scientists on research projects and will be thought of as an influential member of a principal investigator?s team. Research projects that require statistical support include cell-line experiments, animal experiments, prospective trials, and clinical studies, as well as health services research projects involving large national datasets. This individual will also be asked to provide education of statistical concepts to the Department and must be willing to provide input and support to grant applications.
