Student Activities Ambassador
Performs the day-to-day functions associated with the operation of Student Activities spaces. This includes the Student Welcome Desk, the Carlsen Center Welcome Desk and the main college call center. Assists in the development, implementation and/or marketing of programs that foster student engagement. Student Activities plans approximately 80 student events each year.
- Contributes To Successful Student Events And Programs
Provides assistance with departmental and student events and programming, solicits input from students regarding engagement opportunities, provides support to the various programming councils in the Student Life Department, plans and implements programs on campus that increase student engagement
- Successfully Engages Students
Plan and implement programs on campus that increase student engagement, increase awareness of resources at JCCC to enhance student engagement, present student information sessions regarding student life at JCCC
- Contributes To Effective Department Operations
Provides quality customer service to constituents, supports the operation of and staffs the campus call center, assists in marketing student life spaces and programs through online and print media, assists in the training of new student staff, follows proper cash handling procedures for student offerings and attends regular team meetings
- Ability to build positive relationships with other students on a daily basis
- Ability to perform simple math related to cash handling
- Ability to communicate effectively both in person and over the phone
- Enrolled as a full-time student at JCCC (3 Credit Hours during Summer Session, 12 Credit Hours during Fall and Spring semesters)
- Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
- Previous customer service experience preferred

Work schedules are built around JCCC class schedules between the hours of 8 - 6 Monday thru Thursday and 8 - 5 on Fridays.
We are hiring 9 new student ambassadors. Of these 9, 3 of them will start the end of May and the other 6 will start the end of July. Those starting in May will be required to enroll in 3 credit hours worth of summer classes (which are provided for as a benefit of the position).
