Position Summary:
Resident Life. The Associate Director provides oversight of a residential environment conducive to the academic success and personal development of residential students. The Associate Director serves on the Residence Education Leadership Team and reports to the Director of Residence Education.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervises three to four Assistant Directors and indirectly supervises graduate and professional live-in staff.
  • Oversees professional staff recruitment, selection, training, and ongoing development in adherence to University Housing's Eagle Initiative Plan for developing personal and professional core competencies to cultivate leaders within the housing profession.
  • Supervises the administrative responsibilities of the Residence Education department while ensuring an efficient and organized operation.
  • Administers and assesses the Residential Curriculum model, establishing a learning focused environment for residential students.
  • Direct and actively respond to various crisis situations; Serve in the on-campus Residence Education Leadership Team crisis management rotation for a campus of 5,000 students.

    Master’s Degree in Student Development, Counseling, Higher Education Administration, or related field

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.
