Position Summary: Instructor of Music Theory. The successful candidate will be capable of teaching a diverse range of undergraduate and graduate music theory courses each semester. In addition, supervision of graduate teaching assistants who teach the musicianship components of select courses may also be required. Anticipated course load: 15 credit hours per semester (typically 3 to 4 courses).

Minimum Preferred Qualifications: POSITION Instructor of Music Theory. The School of Music at the University of Alabama invites applications for a full-time temporary instructor. This position is a non-tenure earning, 1-year appointment. RESPONSIBILITIES The successful candidate will be capable of teaching a diverse range of undergraduate and graduate music theory courses each semester. In addition, supervision of graduate teaching assistants who teach the musicianship components of select courses may also be required. Anticipated course load: 15 credit hours per semester (typically 3 to 4 courses). QUALIFICATIONS Ph.D. in music theory; Ph.D. candidates currently working on dissertations will be considered.
