The Residence Life Coordinator (RLC), as an educator, works to provide direction for student learning
and academic success by managing/co-managing a residence hall and coordinating the administrative,
supervisory, programmatic efforts and adjudication of lower level conduct cases for an educational area encompassing three buildings housing 800-900 students. As a live-in staff member of University Housing, the Residence Life Coordinator is responsible for the development of comfortable living and learning communities that foster academic success. This is achieved by assisting individuals with their personal needs and concerns, supervising student graduate and support staff, and advising student leadership groups. This position serves in an on call duty rotation with four other professional staff members serving as crisis response for more than 3300 residential students.
Bachelor’s degree and related student affairs experience.
Master’s degree in College Student Affairs or related field preferred; 2 or more years of related work experience; knowledge of student development theory; organization of human relation skills; knowledge in laws governing housing accommodations including, but not limited to, FERPA, ADA, Title IX, etc.; proficient in the use of data management applications applications; excellent written and oral expression abilities; strong deductive and inductive reasoning abilities; demonstrated technical literacy including database management skills, ability to diplomatically handle difficult or urgent matters in a confident and proficient manner; ability to foster and promote an integrated team approach; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.
Salary: $14.95 minimum - $19.99 hourly midpoint
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
There will be times throughout the year when the Residence Life Coordinator will be expected to work evenings and weekends. Availability during this time will be determined in conjunction with the other Coordinators, Managers, Assistant Directors, and Senior Leadership Staff for Housing and Residence Life.
