TITLE: Full-Time Faculty

RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Nursing and Healthcare Initiatives

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Responsible, in conjunction with the Director for:

1. Development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum.
2. Academic advisement of pre-nursing students and students enrolled in the curriculum.
3. Review and revision of all policies pertaining to the curriculum.
4. Meeting requirements of the Faculty Code.
5. Recruiting, screening, and recommending candidates for appointment, promotion and tenure.

APPOINTMENT: Term contracts - 1 year (renewable)
Tenure - continuing

TEACHING RESPONSIBILITIES: 15 load hours, or its equivalent, per semester

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree, or higher, in Nursing

A minimum of two years of current Medical/Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience

Teaching and curriculum development experience a must

Evening and Weekend hours required

Experience and/or knowledge in working with students of great diversity in socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background, including those with different levels of academic preparation and varying physical and learning abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred experience with practical nursing education

Earned Ph.D. in nursing

Effective leadership, team building skills and a strong commitment to working with diverse students, faculty, administration, and community members.

Proficiently in a second language (Spanish)
