Essential functions of this position:
This position provides administrative support to the Chair of the Educational Leadership Department in the Watson College of Education. The position will schedule courses, managing multiple budgets, working with data from a variety of sources to complete university documents and develop spreadsheets that manage, monitor, and document department activities and serves as point of contact for students in the programs. In addition, this position will supervise graduate assistants and undergraduate work assistant students.
N.C. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position:
Excellent people skills and flexibility in working with large numbers of individuals in various roles
Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently while performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced office environment
Demonstrated skills in office management related to organizational systems and record keeping
Ability to managing departmental personnel records and employment documentation
Strong skills in developing technology-based systems to manage large work tasks
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and supervise work flow of the office
Preferred education, professional skills and experience:
Two year Associate Degree
Experience in an academic setting
Knowledge of Banner student and finance, budget and travel
Strong technical knowledge with on-line and PC based software (Microsoft Office proficiency at the intermediate level, Blackboard VISTA, Adobe Creative Suite)
Excellent people skills and flexibility in working with a number of individuals in various roles (faculty, staff, students, public, administrators)
Public contact with internal and external constituents (live and via email)
Recruitment Range: $33,428 - $36,428
NC Salary Grade Equivalency: 61
Hours Per Week: 1.0 (40 hours per week)
