Primary Function of Organization Unit: The College of Engineering maintains as its mission providing an education of highest quality for students, conducting research relevant to the needs of society, and actively sharing knowledge with the people of North Carolina through outreach programs. The primary purpose of the central College Business Office is to manage the business and financial affairs of the College of Engineering.

Essential Job Duties: This position will serve as an Accounting Technician for the College of Engineering Central Business Office. This position will develop, manage, and initiate processes to effectively allocate new program enhancement fee to units/colleges. Learn and use OrgSync to develop electronic processes for various funding categories of the fee. Prepare/examine/analyze accounting records, financial statements and/or other financial reports; process financial transactions (vouchers, various interdepartmental transactions, requisitions, AR invoices, budget revisions, etc.); and reconcile assigned projects and p-cards. This position will serve as liaison with various offices to develop appropriate, defend-able processes related to student awards. As needed, this position will work with offices to develop/improve current applications that will enhance allocations. Assist with annual reporting of fee to various offices.

Minimum Education/Experience:

Department Required Skills: * Knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials or similar ERP. * Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software. * Effective time management and organizational skills. * Ability to understand University spending guidelines related to various funding sources.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: * Associate's degree in accounting or closely related field or combination of education and experience. * Experience using OrgSync.
