UVa's School of Continuing and Professional Studies seeks applicants to fill a non-tenure track part-time instructor position in Health Sciences Management for an online teaching opportunity at the non-degree undergraduate level beginning with the Fall 2017 academic term. This position can be performed in Charlottesville, Virginia or from a remote location. SCPS employs academic faculty who have applicable content expertise at the appropriate level, and who provide evidence of recent and/or current professional experience which applies to students' achieving the goals and learning outcomes of the program.
Subject area needs include, but are not limited to health care management and health care administration. Applicants should have knowledge of the structure and delivery systems of US health care, current challenges facing the system, and the scope of career opportunities in the health care field. Qualifications: A master's degree with at least 18 graduate hours in health administration, public health, or related health care field is required, as are strong written and oral communication skills. Online teaching experience, or a willingness to learn online instruction through participation in a multi-week instructional design workshop, is required. Preferred qualifications include: experience working with adult learners; at least 4 years industry practitioner experience in a health care related field; and certification in the subject matter area. Experience working with academically advanced high school juniors and seniors is a plus.

Note: This is an at-will faculty wage position, which does not carry benefits. All hires are as part-time appointments.
