The University of Virginia's Cognitive Science Laboratory, under the direction of Dr. Dennis Proffitt, seeks applicants for a Research Associate position. The position will involve working on a Google-supported grant, Perceptual Metrics in VR. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Psychology, Cognitive Science, or related fields by the appointment start date as well as have experience with virtual reality technologies including Oculus and/or Vive headsets and the Perception Neuron Motion Capture system. Experience and strong knowledge of quantitative methods is required, including (1) the ability to program and analyze data using R, (2) the use and analysis of EEG data, (3) the programming of experiments using Matlab (specifically Psychtoolbox), (4) the collection of physiological data using BioPac and data analysis using Acqknowledge, and (5) programming in any language for Arduino.
