Bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology, Psychology or related field by June 2017. Some basic experience in a laboratory environment with laboratory equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with animal behavioral experiments. Experience with computers and data management (Excel, SPSS).

Brief Description of Duties:

The Research Support Specialist will be required to carry out experiments and manage data. Incumbent must possess the ability to demonstrate professional competence in research activities., outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, and experience successfully working independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide experimental support for PI and postdocs; conduct experiments as directed.
  • Prepare brain slides for immunostaining.
  • Provide general laboratory support including ordering supplies and maintaining accurate laboratory records.
  • Some training of undergraduate students.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned.
Special Notes:This is a full time position. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
