The Assistant Vice President for Operations reports to the University Vice President for the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory and provides extremely high level oversight of all aspects of the technical operations of the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL).
This senior technical leader identifies, monitors, oversees, and helps guide all operational aspects of PPPL.
Specific areas include: formality of operations, operational controls, operational program management, verification and validation, documentation of operations, and quality control processes.
Successful applicants must have at least an M.S. in a core science or engineering field and at least 10 years' experience in leading and/or overseeing operations of complex technical systems.
Proven ability to review, critique, and optimize existing systems to reduce costs, streamline operations, and reduce risk.
Proven track record of successful operation of complex systems and have demonstrated experience in gaining and keeping the sponsor's trust and working together with management, scientists, engineers and operations and support personnel to develop and maintain operational excellence.
The final candidate will be required to complete a background check successfully.
