This position is a member of the University of Colorado Cancer Center's Cancer Clinical Trials Office (CCTO) Post-Award team located on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO.

Job Summary

This position process clinical trial patient bills generated by University of Colorado Hospital and CU Medicine pertaining to the conduct of oncology clinical trials by physicians who utilize the Cancer Center Cancer Clinical Trials Office (CCTO). This position sorts, verifies, authorizes payment and enters information into the University's payables system. The position is also responsible for maintaining and updating electronic data files of paid invoiced, assigning payments by study and patient. In addition, the position assists CCTO Billing Supervisor and other finance team members investigate and reconcile University of Colorado Hospital and CU Medicine bills using Epic, OnCore and Excel spreadsheets. This position also processes and distributes mail.

Salary and Benefits

The hiring salary for this position is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience. This position is eligible for overtime compensation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of technical accounting experience.
  • Substitution:
    • Two years of bookkeeping or technical accounting experience other than that listed may substitute for the required experience.
    • Two years of college, university or non-correspondence business school which included eighteen (18) semester credit hours of accounting or bookkeeping can substitute for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of University financial applications including m-Fin, CU M@rketplace, OnCore and Epic.
  • Experience working with clinical trial finances.


  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
