The University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, Department of Cell Biology has an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst. The Senior Financial Analyst will assist in planning and organizing the financial process for the Department of Cell Biology to include financial reporting that coincides with the department's day-to-day accounting of business activities. Additionally, this position is responsible for assisting with the preparation of the yearly departmental budget. The Senior Financial Analyst will also be responsible for the preparation, coordination, review and analysis of departmental financial activities including the development of budgets and process workflow of documents for authorization. The position will primarily report to the Director of Business Operations, and through delegated authority, will support the faculty on matters associated with their financial portfolio, inclusive of grants.

The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a closely related field of study. At least three years of relevant work experience in business finance, preferably in a academic/university setting. Ability to work well under pressure and under tight deadlines with limited resources and multiple competing priorities. Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to identify opportunities to improve processes. Flexible and able to multi-task; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, and demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities. Demonstrated skills in effective communication, both verbal and written, with good interpersonal skills. Strong financial management skills as the Senior Financial Analyst must be able to identify opportunities to improve operating efficiency and effectively control expenses. Substantial experience in budgeting, preparing financial reports and financial analysis. Proficient with computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and proficiency with financial systems. High personal standards of integrity, ethical behavior, fairness and respect in dealing with financial matters and personnel. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
