Responsibilities:

The Designer joins the Creative Team, which works in close collaboration with both the Undergraduate and Professional Degree Program Marketing leadership to develop an effective marketing strategy and supporting creative deliverables that both achieves the University's enrollment goals and ensures the optimal experience for our learners. This position supports high volume marketing teams that requires quality work delivered in a timely manner.

You will be part of a collaborative, fun, innovative work environment which encourages the generation of fresh ideas.

The Designer participates in the planning, design, development and production of a variety of creative projects including, but not limited to, print collateral, direct mail, packaging, signage, and digital assets. The designer will work directly with the Design Manager in a creative team that serves both Undergraduate and Graduate Enrollment Marketing & Communications Departments.
The Designer is responsible for translating strategic marketing goals into end-products that visually align with the Northeastern University value proposition, brand guidelines and best practices for achieving results. The Designer will collaborate with subject matter experts and consult messaging guides to transfer objectives for an initiative into clear, actionable, concise design work for various personae and in multiple design channels.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree (B.S. or B.F.A.) in Graphic Design or related field required.
Successful candidate will have two to five years experience in both print and preparation for web/interactive assets.
Major responsibilities include production and managing a large volume of change requests.
Ability to integrate a broad set of creative disciplines including, but not limited to: brand, print, and digital assets. Creative thinking, critical analysis and problem-solving skills, along with flexibility/adaptability are essential - must possess comfort in a rapidly changing environment with competing and shifting priorities.
Ability to frame issues in clear, logical constructs, utilize segment knowledge, conceptual thinking and presenting design rationale is critical. Employs solid knowledge of graphic design, typographic hierarchy, brand standards, print production, basic UX/UI principles, design industry standards and trends, platform and browser capabilities and limitations and digital asset specifications.
Advanced knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator CC, InDesign CC, and Photoshop CC) and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Powerpoint, Word, and Excel).
Strong knowledge in pre-press, printing, and Web standards. Proficiency with IT platforms including Macintosh, Microsoft Windows and leading Web browsers.
Strong achievement orientation, solid planning and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated results in a matrixed organization.
Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor plus fluid communication and presentation skills with the ability to present creative rationales.
