Qualifications

In order to submit an application into the pool, you must be a current undergraduate student. Qualified applicants will also meet additional minimum qualifications including: must have a high school diploma or equivalent and recently completed some college coursework from FSU, must have at least a 3.0 GPA in all college-level coursework completed, as well as a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3 or higher in the academic area of tutoring. Strong academic, interpersonal, and communication skills are required. Ability to complete CRLA (College Reading & Learning Association) Certification is available upon hire.

Peer tutors support students' learning by strengthening a wide variety of educational skills among the students with whom they interact. Tutoring is a rewarding activity in which tutors help students to learn to better help themselves, both for courses in which they are currently enrolled and for their future academic endeavors. Tutoring may be conducted one-on-one, in small or large groups, by appointment, or on a walk-in basis. Tutors must be willing to perform other duties as required, including but not limited to: answering phones, scheduling appointments, assisting in opening and closing procedures, and cleaning study spaces. All tutors are expected to complete CRLA Certification upon hiring. Strong academic, interpersonal, and communication skills are required. Tutors must have at least a 3.0 GPA in all college-level coursework completed and a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3 or higher in their academic area of tutoring.

Anticipated Salary Range

Minimum $8.50 per hour, effective 1/1/17.

Schedule

Part-time flexible hours (maximum of 10 hours per week)
