Posting Summary:
The School of Medicine at the University of Virginia seeks applicants for a Database Report Writing Analyst in the Medical Educational Technology department. The Database Report Writing Analyst analyzes, plans, creates, and maintains moderately complex reports/database projects. The projects will be generally varied, with broad assignments and considerable latitude actions and decisions. The incumbent will interact with team members and assigned student, faculty, or staff clients. The incumbent will work under minimal supervision and may train, assign tasks, provide assistance to, and review the work of less experienced employees. The incumbent will assist senior staff with problem-solving and anticipating issues.

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related discipline; a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related discipline is preferred. Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Office applications experience is required. Three years of experience developing database and reporting solutions is required. Relational database design and programming (SQL, TSQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, etc.) is also required. The successful candidate must possess sound knowledge of established report writing and programming interfaces to support print-ready, parameterized, and analytical report writing tools, and have the ability to analyze business processes and reflect those in both database design and reporting solutions. Excellent communication written and verbal skills are required as this position does work closely with end users.

Preferred qualifications include experience building reporting solutions built using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services; building reporting/data warehouse solutions using Qlikview or Tableau; and experience with analysis of end user reporting requirements.

2. Possess sound knowledge of established report writing and programming interfaces to support print-ready, parameterized, and analytical report writing tools.
3. The ability to analyze business processes and reflect those in both database design and reporting solutions.
