Job Description

  • Responsible for all technical assistance activities, including analyzing financial statements and evaluating annual and quarterly lender submitted reports
  • Provide technical support for data management tasks related to lender examination and review activities
  • Perform commercial loan review activities including commercial loan file review
  • Understanding of political policies, economic trends and government regulations
  • Conduct research, gather and analyze data
  • Monitor economic trends and construct forecasts on multiple issues including interest rates, inflation, business cycles and taxes
  • Engineer methods for gathering data needed
  • Use mathematical modeling techniques to construct forecasts
  • Develop reports on research findings
  • Present statistics and economic concepts in an understandable and significant manner for non-economist understanding
  • Fundamental knowledge of basic economic principles is essential
  • Analyze economic conditions of the United states and worldwide to estimate effects of certain changes in legislation and public policy
  • Provide advice to policy makers in areas of deregulation, adjustments, effects of tax cuts, budget deficit

  • Commercial Economist must have 10 or more years of related work experience including at least 5 years reviewing commercial loan activities in accordance with standard due diligence techniques at regulatory agencies, financial institutions or similar organizations
  • PARRiS Review activities
  • Strong mathematical background, and problem solving skills
  • Excellent computer skills, detail oriented

  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, multitask, operate under pressure and meet guidelines
  • Demonstration of innovation and creativity in the form of continuous improvement to internal process

  • Senior-level: Ph.D. or Master's degree in economics with Federal Government economist experience, combination of experience and education
  • Junior-level: Ph.D. or Master's Degree in Business Administration(MBA) or a Master's Degree in Business Finance, Statistics, or Accounting, coursework required in statistics, economics, accounting, corporate budgeting, bond evaluation and risk management
  • Required on-site Washington, D.C. and/or Rockville locations

Full time multiple office location position, qualifications based on past work experience will commensurate with the position. Contract job.
