ASSISTANT MANAGER VPUL FACILITIES
Duties: Responsible for overall management of the Perelman Quadrangle and VPUL Performing Arts Facilities and the ARCH according to varied and assigned schedule (primarily during evenings and weekends (but also including weekday hours and holidays)). Supervise student/temporary Campus Events Managers, House Managers, Irvine Associates, Event Services Team, Ushers and Information Center Attendants. Receive administrative direction from and reports to the Manager of Perelman Quadrangle and VPUL Performing Arts Facilities.
Qualifications: Associate Degree or two year College required, Bachelors Degree strong preferred with two to there years of management/supervisory-level experience in venue facilities/event operations in a campus union, conference center, hotel, theater, or similar hospitality/event-based venue or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills required. Experience in staff supervision (hiring, training, performance management) strongly preferred. Ability to be self-directed and to work with minimal supervision essential. Ability to work under stressful conditions and with a diverse student and administrative customer base. Knowledge of building mechanical systems/equipment and housekeeping/maintenance operations preferred. Working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office Suite systems preferred. Ability to walk for extended periods of time (moving between facilities in various weather conditions), intermittently sitting/standing/stooping, occasionally lifting 25-50 Considered essential personnel (expected to work during University downtime). pounds.
