EMM Telecom Lead
The Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Research (LASP) is seeking a Telecom Lead for the EMM program responsible for all aspects of the telecom subsystem development.
Will lead the telecom subsystem development effort including architecture, design, component procurement, documentation, analysis, presentation, integration, test, and operations activities for an upcoming deep space mission as part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists. Team member will also be responsible for growing telecom capability at the Lab.
Applicant should be experienced with all aspects of deep space telecom design including component sizing, vendor selection, subcontract management, link budget development, contact analysis, subsystem I&T, and operations. Must be able to work in a dynamic and fluid team environment and be enthusiastic about mentoring students and junior engineers.
BS or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a relevant field, plus 10 or more years of directly related experience.

• Deep space navigation via telecom link
• Work with DSN and ESA networks
• Crosslinks orbiter to local assets
• CubeSat architecture and components
• Antenna design
• Frequency licensing
• Range safety
