Degree and Area of Specialization: Bachelors degree preferred.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience: Familiarity with federal financial aid, specifically application and verification processes. Previous experience working with college students of diverse backgrounds. Must have strong organizational and planning skills. Also must have strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively. Successful candidates will also possess a working knowledge of basic computer programs such as Word and Excel.
Position Summary: The Verification Specialist is dedicated to developing and participating in initiatives and efficient procedures to aid in streamlining the application and verification process. Under general direction, the Verification Specialist oversees the appropriate and compliant preparation, verification, processing, and timely submission of federal financial aid applications as well as serving a significant role in the Professional Judgment decisions for the Office of Student Financial Aid.
