Health Careers Internship Coordinator
Job Description Summary: To coordinate medical and health-related experiences, including internships and observations, for students pursuing health careers as part of the Furman Advantage. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1. Provides general information sessions, documentation, and one-to-one meetings for students to learn about health careers and related experiences including internships, volunteer opportunities and observations. 2. Develops and maintains health-related experiences to establish a list of approved sites and to provide support for professional partnerships. 3. Coordinates placement of students into internship sites. 4. Collaborates with Furman's Office of Health Careers Advising by assisting in maintaining the current pre-health experiences and assisting in identifying new opportunities available. 5. Collaborates with the Executive Director of Community Learning to provide appropriate community sensitivity training to students 6. Compiles and maintains master list of all healthcare related contacts within the IACH. 7. Maintains a list of resources and opportunities for health-related experiences for the Internship database in the Internship Office, on the web site and in documentation. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors Degree with 3-5 years experience in related field, significant interaction and contacts with the medical community required. Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills and ability to understand and apply legal and liability parameters.
Salary Grade: Level 5 $34,600.00 - $53,600.00
