Provide support for the management of the Division disciplines and Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.


Position Title: Division Support Specialist - Social and Behavioral Science, CFRE10954HSBS

Duties of Position:

  • Develop a draft of the course schedule through the use of available faculty, subject to Dean approval.
  • Monitor enrollment as per direction of Dean making recommendations regarding course additions and cancelations while working closely with Centralized Scheduling Office.
  • Monitor faculty loads, which can include course assignments and finalization process per Dean approval, to ensure compliance with College policy.
  • Track curriculum changes and monitor degree/certificate requirements, as needed. For Health Sciences, manage/monitor student clinical requirements, placement, and student compliance in regards to clinical site arrangements.
  • Provide accurate and timely responses to student inquiries regarding Division courses or programs. Refer students as appropriate.
  • Screen adjunct faculty syllabi; track adjunct faculty completion of roster verification midterm, final grades, and attendance.
  • Maintain and update program websites, as appropriate.
  • Manage and maintain advisory committee database with agendas/minutes.
  • Maintain accurate program records and assist with re-accreditation process as needed.
  • Monitor budget, including year-end reconciliation, and initiate purchasing activities, where appropriate. Review and submit invoices while working closely with Accounts Payable. review faculty/staff Concur submissions.
  • Participate in program specific events, marketing activities, meetings and committees.
  • Where applicable, assist in development of articulation and academic partnerships with high schools, colleges, community and employer groups.
  • Where applicable, assist in development of articulation and academic partnerships with high schools, colleges, community and employer groups.
  • Where applicable, work with Admissions and Faculty Coordinator in regards to program-specific applications and inquiries. Monitor student admission/program participation and progression/graduation requirements, as required by division.
  • Supervise Classified Staff and Student Workers as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the mission of the College and success of CTE programs.




Experience and Education:


REQUIRED:

EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years in one or more related discipline or equivalent experience.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in related discipline.

PREFERRED:

EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years related to discipline; college-level teaching experience or equivalent experience.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in one of the above disciplines.



Equipment & Working Conditions:


MAC and IBM compatible computer with MSOffice software workstation, printer, copy machine, telephone, FAX, scanner, College of DuPage Datatel/Colleague system and Business Objects/Web Intelligence, Concur, Mercury Commerce, Perceptive Content, MyAccess, and Hyperion.

Regular 40 hour week with occasional adjustment of schedule, as needed; considerable contact with internal and external members of the the community; excellent communication skills and confidentiality; some local travel required.

This position requires a background check and drug screen.
