The University of Miami, School of Education and Human Development, and the Department of Educational and Psychological Studies (EPS) invite applications for a full-time, staff position as Practicum Manager. The position requires a doctoral degree in psychology (counseling, clinical, or school) or counselor education, and licensure or license-eligible as a psychologist in Florida. 3 years of experience providing clinical supervision to masters and doctoral level students is required. Ideally, the candidate has knowledge of clinical and non-clinical practice sites across South Florida in multiple settings.The EPS Department consists of doctoral degree programs in Counseling Psychology, Higher Education Leadership and Research, Measurement & Evaluation, along with master's degree programs in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Higher Education Administration; Community and Social Change; Research, Measurement & Evaluation; and an undergraduate program in Human and Social Development. The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic and diverse department in which multiculturalism and social justice are central.In the Practicum Manager role, the successful candidate's responsibilities include:(a) Establishing productive relationships with clinical settings and human service community based organizations in South Florida leading to increased practicum site placement options for master's and doctoral students;(b) Maintaining a close relationship with practicum site supervisors and directors by conducting routine site visits;(c) Overseeing the outplacement application process;(d) Ensuring that practicum students are meeting each specific program’s practicum requirements, contracts and timeline;(e) Collaborating and communicating with faculty teaching the corresponding practicum seminar courses;(f) Participating in faculty and program meetings throughout the year;(g) Coordinating training and supervisory activities to support the needs of master’s and doctoral students;(h) Attending relevant workshops and presentations in the community in an effort to increase UM’s visibility and increase collegial relationships; and(i) Attending monthly meetings (or as needed) with EPS program directors.Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills are desired. The ability to form collaborative relationships with a broad range of site personnel and advocacy skills that will enhance the visibility of students in the Department of Education and Psychological Studies are required.Apply online.
