Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Advancement Services, the Senior Director of Advancement Information Services will ensure the delivery of essential technology to University Advancement.

S/he is responsible for researching, recommending, and implementing state-of-the-art solutions, developing strategic plans, and overseeing the installation, implementation, and continued development of systems for gift processing (Banner Advancement), prospect management, fundraising activities, and list maintenance ( The Senior Director provides comprehensive training and responsive internal helpdesk for Advancement users and forums for end user input.

The Senior Director will develop compliant reports and systems from databases and ensure that appropriate security is in place for reporting on data. S/he will plan and implement effective strategies for improving the information in databases; create and execute protocols to update records with external data; and develop audit reports to ensure that data integration between systems is effective. S/he performs analysis of data; develops programming for quality assurance; works with departments within Advancement to develop specifications for additional subsystem; and establishes policies and procedures to ensure data integrity.

The Senior Director serves on numerous cross-functional committees and work teams. S/he is the principal liaison with the Offices of Information Technology Services, the Registrar, Finance, and Data Administration. S/he will oversee a team of 14 staff members.


Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
At least 7 years of experience in information services and gift processing required, preferably in higher education.
Track record of successful team management and leadership
Comprehensive knowledge of computer systems
Excellent analytical, organizational skills and technical trouble-shooting skills
Project management and database expertise
Track record of managing several technical personnel and projects simultaneously
Ability to communicate effectively with technical personnel and end-users.
