Job Description

Requirements include: Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of Geographical Information Systems and computer aided drafting; good knowledge of the preparation of cartographic maps and graphics in general; some knowledge of surveying, civil engineering principles and advanced mathematics as may be obtained by completion of college level engineering courses; ability to coordinate and plan projects; ability to create, test, and maintain geodatabases; ability to interact effectively and responsibly with other members of the Public Works staff. Completion of a standard high school coursework or G.E.D. with at least three years experience in GIS, CAD or drafting work or completion of college level courses in civil or architectural engineering or drafting; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skill and abilities. Preference will be given to applicants with advanced knowledge in the use of ESRI products (ArcGIS), database applications (Access), Visual, Java, and Open GIS Consortium standards. Applicants with extensive experience may be eligible for a higher pay rate. Possession and retention of a valid motor vehicle operators license issued by the State of Georgia. Must pass testing for illegal substances and criminal background investigation.
