Summary of Duties:
Develops and administers the writing assistance program. Assesses the use of the program by students, this position will research and develop the concept of establishing a Writing Center on the WSU Spokane campus. Manages the campus writing portfolio requirement. Advise students on the writing portfolio requirements and oversee administration on all portions of the portfolio requirements.
Advisor to academic departments and faculty members providing information about the program and workshops/tutoring to faculty and departments and how the Writing Center can address the needs of students.
Advises graduate, undergraduate, and professional level students on the development of their writing skills through one-on-one tutoring and small group tutoring. Work as part of a collaborative staff team in the Student Success Center. Completes referral requests both to and from colleagues.
Positions require a Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. Experience leading or directing the work of others. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a yearforyear basis.
