Full-time Faculty in the Natural Sciences Department (Anatomy & Physiology)

General Description: The Department of Natural Sciences at Notre Dame de Namur University (Belmont, CA) has an opening for a full-time, 9 month position for the 2017-2018 academic year.
This position includes teaching responsibilities for Anatomy, Anatomy Lab, and Human Physiology, in addition to other courses needed in the Natural Sciences department. In addition to using active learning strategies during lecture, the candidate is expected to utilize the available Visible Body software on zSpace augmented reality devices as a component of anatomy lab, in addition to the traditional approaches of using models and/or dissection. Candidates who are not already familiar with the Visible Body software and/or zSpace technology will be provided training and time to become familiar with the technology before classes begin.

- Doctoral-level degree in a science discipline related to the area of teaching is required;
- College-level teaching experience strongly preferred;
- Passion for quality teaching centered on engaging students in the learning process;
- Experience with (or willingness to learn) integrating technology into classroom and/or laboratory settings to support student engagement and learning;
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and demonstrated commitment to supporting student learning;
- Demonstrated professional behavior and excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team;
- Strong commitment to serving the needs of underrepresented populations in science and in higher education.
