Duties: Provide professional legal advice and expertise in connection with the activities of the University and Penn Medicine in the areas of tax, employee benefits and development.

Qualifications: J.D. from ABA accredited law school; 5-7 years professional experience; demonstrated experience, including independent handling of cases, client contact, and legal research. Experience in employee benefits, tax and/or development/nonprofit/fundraising issues is highly preferred. Must be admitted and in good standing in Pennsylvania or other state bar; admission to Pennsylvania Bar is required within one year of appointment. This position requires strong critical thinking and strategic skills, excellent legal research, analysis and reasoning, impeccable oral and written communication skills, including negotiation skills, demonstrated public-speaking aptitude, an ability to identify and resolve complicated and sensitive problems creatively and with professional discretion; superior organizational skills and the ability to interact and function effectively in an academic environment and research environment; may be required to travel within the Delaware Valley.
