Posting Summary:
The Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging's Neurointerventional practice at the University of Virginia has expanded its program through development of a service line with an adjacent community hospital system. The position involves treatment and management of complex cerebrovascular diseases in both academic and community hospital settings. Centers are spread over a 60+ mile radius, so commuter travel in the Central Virginia region, and associated on-call responsibilities, will be involved. Rank and salary will be based on experience and history of achievement.

Candidates must have a MD and be a diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology fellowship-trained physician. Diagnostic Neuroradiology CAQ and proficient with state-of- the-art endovascular cerebrovascular treatment options, including flow diversion and stent retrievers are required. Candidate must also have the ability to independently manage critically ill patients with complex cerebrovascular disease (stroke, SAH, etc.). Preference will be given to candidates with active interest and/or planned investigations in Neurointerventional research, preferably to include focused ultrasound; clinical research experience as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator is preferred.
