Job Description: The Associate Dean of Research and Director of the Center for Sustainability is a full-time 12 month position reporting to the Dean. The position is responsible for providing strategic leadership to advance the research and external funding productivity of the college and the center and for providing effective management and supervision of the center's personnel, research, outreach, and service activities. The position serves as liaison between the College and the Center and the Division of Research, Engagement, and Economic Development (REDE). Working closely and collaboratively with faculty and the department chairs, the Associate Dean for Research and Director of the Center for Sustainability will lead the development and review of college research programs. The position facilitates and supports faculty research efforts, collaborates with college administrators in planning ongoing faculty development opportunities related to research, and collects, analyzes, and periodically reports College research productivity data to the faculty and College and University administrators. The position represents the college and the center at campus and community functions and promotes and develops collaborative relationships with current and prospective research and service partners. The position collaborates with other administrators in the planning and implementation of college-wide activities and promotes college faculty as candidates for university-wide awards. The position assists the Dean in monitoring College compliance with University policies and procedures related to research. The position reviews start-up proposals for new faculty and provides feedback to the dean and chairs and communicates with the Division of REDE on Start-Up requests and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have the credentials, experience, and documented achievements to be eligible for a tenured appointment in one of the departments of the College. A Ph.D. in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Industrial Technology, Construction Management, or closely related field such as Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or Industrial Distribution and Logistics. A strong record of research, including research productivity related to sustainability, is required. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
