Degree and Area of Specialization: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. Degree and/or specialized training required in technical communication, marketing, public relations, journalism/communications or a related field. Experience in Health Sciences and/or Pharmacy preferred.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience: - A minimum of seven years of experience combined with successful practice in public relations, marketing, project management, strategic planning, and personnel management.
- A minimum of five years in publications design, editing, marketing, and social media management.
- Demonstrated experience with print and electronic communication campaign development.
- A minimum of five years of experience in higher education is preferred.
- Candidate should have proficiency in using Windows or Mac platforms and be familiar with desktop publishing software like PowerPoint, Photoshop, and Microsoft Publisher, etc. A working knowledge of standard camera equipment and video editing software is desired.
- Publications, communications, and/or marketing experience within a university setting is strongly preferred.
- Experience in communications and marketing strategy development and implementation.
- Experience overseeing production of promotional media.
- Project management expertise is preferred.

Position Summary: The Associate Dean for Marketing and Communications will serve as the communications and marketing strategist for the School of Pharmacy. This individual, in consultation with senior leadership and various divisions, departments, units and centers within the school, will develop a high level, multi-year communications and marketing strategic plan that not only advances the mission of the School of Pharmacy but also serves to attract a high achieving, diverse applicant pool from Wisconsin and around the world. The Associate Dean for will play a key role in developing and implementing a comprehensive and integrated communications and marketing strategy and will manage the social marketing plan involving both short-term and long-term strategies. This person will be responsible for drafting, designing, and coordinating the publication of various materials using traditional and non-traditional marketing methods. This position will supervise at least two positions within the Communications and Marketing Office.
