Carpentry and Rigging Fellow

Description:
Provide supervision of the backstage operations in the theatre performance and production support facilities of the Office of the Arts, including but not limited to, the Cutler Majestic Theatre, Paramount Theatre, Semel and Greene Theaters, Black Box Theatre, Bright Family Screening Room, Paramount Studios and scene shop. Assist with rigging, carpentry, and scenic projects. Work with Office of the Arts Production staff to provide superior production values in Office of the Arts venues while maintaining safe working practices.

Campus Location: Boston Campus

Required Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree with demonstrable knowledge of theatrical scenery construction and rigging techniques.

Preferred/Desirable Knowledge:
Vectorworks and/or AutoCad drafting. Mild steel and aluminum Mig welding. Basic theatrical safety and fall-arrest procedures. Ability to work with varied personalities in a high stress environment Experience with theatrical and arena style rigging

Required Prior Work Experience:
1-2 years of related experience in technical theater, with an emphasis in rigging and stage carpentry
