Job Purpose Reporting to the Associate Dean/Director of Admission, the Assistant Dean of Admission is one of five senior managers who will manage, administer, implement and interpret university and/or department admission policies and procedures and directly supervise a team of 5-6 admission officers.
- Manage and mentor staff, develop and coordinate training programs.
- Read, evaluate and make higher level recommendations on undergraduate and transfer applications.
- Chair admission committees; make higher level management, evaluative and programmatic decisions.
- Assist the Associate Dean/Director of Admission in developing, managing, evaluating and implementing multi-dimensional admission outreach and recruitment strategies to enroll the most academically talented students, make recommendations for future program improvements.
- Develop and maintain external community (e.g., prospective applicants and their families, high school guidance counselors, alumni, community-based organizations, etc.) and University liaisons related to admission programs and services.
- Evaluate departmental policies and procedures and make recommendations to senior management team.
- Oversee the collection of enrollment data, develop reports and analyses, manage team's program budget.
- Participate in the development of long-term strategic planning and lead teams on the implementation of annual long-range planning efforts, development of business practices, and organizational change that improve processes and workflow.
- Serve as a key member of management team; represent the department/unit on University wide teams and projects.
- Take leadership role at regional and national committees/conferences.
- Personnel management experience.

- Frequently perform desk based computer tasks, seated work and use light/ fine grasping.
- Occasionally lift, carry, push pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
- Rarely stand, walk, use a telephone and write by hand.
- May work extended or non-standard hours based on project or business needs. Occasional local and overnight travel required.
