The Department of Biology at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) invites outstanding applicants for an adjunct position in the School of Science. The successful applicant will teach a double section (approximately 48 students) of our non-majors course Human Form & Function (BIO 171) during Fall 2017. In this course, selected systems of the human body are examined at multiple levels of biological organization to illustrate the interdependence of structure and function and the basic principles governing life. Evolution of these attributes is contrasted and explored. Other important course topics include the relationship of biology to other scientific disciplines, and the influence of biology on society and accompanying ethical issues. Labs involve student-led investigations of human physiology, and the successful applicant would have the opportunity to contribute new lab activities. The course has been scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday 5:30PM - 6:20PM (lecture/discussion), Tuesday 6:30PM - 8:20PM (lab), and Thursday 6:30PM - 8:20PM (lab). This course is offered during the fall, spring, and summer semesters, so there may be opportunities for continued employment for the successful candidate.
