Position Summary: The Software Engineer will assist in the design, prototyping, development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of high-level applications to support FRIB accelerator construction, commissioning, and operation.

Faculty: Minimum Qualifications Support Staff: Minimum Requirements Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering or Physics; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in physics, computer systems, or computer programming; or an equivalent
combination of education and experience.

Typing Requirements (wpm):

Desired Qualifications: Demonstrated experience with the full life-cycle of software analysis, design, development, and deployment; Experience in programming JavaScript in web browser and/or Node.js environments; Experience with web standards and technologies (HTML/CSS, Bootstrap, jQuery), and RESTful API design; Experience with web service frameworks like Express, Django, J2EE or similar; Experience with database design principles, preferably using MySQL or MongoDB; Familiarity with source code revision control tools, preferably Git; Good understanding of asynchronous design patterns and/or programming; Demonstrable good communication and documentation skills; Proven ability to work well in team environment and experience in object-oriented software development using Java, JavaScript, Python or similar.
