    Postdoctoral Scholar for the Individualizing Student Instruction Lab

    One full-time postdoctoral scholar is needed at the University of California, Irvine to support the UCI-Early Learning Network Project in the Individualizing Student Instruction (ISI) Lab.

    Main duties will include overseeing the day to day operations of the UCI-Early Learning Network Project, including the development and testing of the Optimizing Learning Opportunities for Students (OLOS) observation system. Main duties include analyzing and coding video observations, collecting and managing student-level data, and recruiting and managing school partnerships. Other responsibilities include running statistical analyses, analyzing log data, and conducting eye movement studies on other projects as well as disseminating research findings- writing peer reviewed journal articles, presenting at conferences, managing ISI lab website and blogs. Experience in research projects, data management, eye movement technique, and statistical methods is strongly preferred.

    Position will begin in Summer 2017, with the exact start date contingent on funding and the availability of the applicant. Salary is commensurate with experience, plus health benefits.

    Requirements:

    Candidates must possess a Ph.D in education, psychology, speech-language pathology or quantitative methods, with a focus on learning, language, and literacy including children who are bilingual or English Learners. Candidates should be fluent in Spanish and English. It is highly preferred that applicants have an emerging record of research in the areas of literacy, intervention research, advanced statistical methods (e.g., hierarchical linear modeling, longitudinal analysis), family and school influences, special education, and technology. Also preferred is evidence of participation at all levels on externally funded research projects, particularly conducting and overseeing research in schools and in the field. Leadership experience is also preferred.
