Primary Function of Organization Unit: The mission of the Friday Institute is to advance education through innovation in teaching, learning, and leadership. Bringing together educational professionals, researchers, policy-makers, and other community members, the Friday Institute is a center for fostering collaborations to improve education. We conduct research, develop educational resources, provide professional development programs for educators, advocate to improve teaching and learning, and help inform policy-making.

Essential Job Duties: The Digital Media Producer will provide technical and creative assistance in the production and development of concise, clean videos that tell the compelling stories of our work of the Friday Institute and our partners. Specifically, this position will 1) record, edit and produce videos; 2) advise on video development and design; 3) as needed, train and prepare users on video equipment use in the field. The Digital Media Producer will work closely with Friday Institute faculty, staff, graduate students and partners as the Institute's video expert, advising, designing and implementing video solutions for websites, social media, podcasts, interviews and course videos that further our work in advancing education through innovation in teaching, learning and leadership.

Minimum Education/Experience:

Department Required Skills: Advanced skill in using video cameras, DSLRs, lighting equipment and video production software such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro is essential. The successful candidate for this position will have demonstrated video development and production expertise (as shown in previous work), working knowledge in another area of communications (graphic design, social media, photography, etc), and an interest in both growing your skills and advancing our work to help create the next generation education system. An ability to schedule and manage your own time and the communication skills, work as part of the overall communications team, and the flexibility to work with multiple different teams within the Friday Institute to fulfill their video needs.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field is required. Master's degree in communications or a related field is preferred. Experience developing videos from initial concept to final production is essential. 2-3 years experience in related field Experience managing social media outreach and marketing Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud programs Knowledge of and interest in educational innovation, policy, and/or research
