Responsible for understanding the discipline of testing and how to effectively implement best practices and maintain a testing strategy. Leading and managing the analysis, design, execution, and support across all key phases of manual testing (System, Integration, UAT, and Performance).

  • Define the scope of testing within the context of each release/initiative
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of initiative scope, risks, and required testing
  • Planning, deploying, and managing all testing efforts for any given release/initiative
  • Create realistic test plans and allocate resources accordingly to maximize delivery
  • Track and communicate status of all testing initiatives and phases
  • Track and understand the details of all testing efforts and ability to highlight risk at weekly meetings
  • Conduct reviews of test cases and scripts across all testing efforts and resources
  • Develop and maintain manual test cases and scripts for PeopleSoft Applications using Oracle Test Manager
  • Maintain multiple test environments to ensure quality of test data and minimize impacts to testing schedules or parallel efforts
  • Understand the status of test environments and migration impacts
  • Manage day-to-day testing tasks
  • Function as the primary Point-Of-Contact for all IT and Operational personnel
  • Enforce test process in an environment where the level of test formality is maturing
  • Coordinate with multiple IT teams to troubleshoot issues (e.g. Infrastructure Team, DBA, Development Team, etc.)
  • Ability to perform under an aggressive timeframe
  • Maintain flexible work schedule that may be driven by test environment availability
  • Work independently with minimal direction and collaboratively within a team
  • Retain and develop the careers of testing personnel

  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience

Work Experience:
  • 2+ years of software / manual testing experience
  • 2+ years' experience of delivering web based applications and System Development Life Cycle
  • Ability to lead and manage parallel testing cycles and testing resources
  • Ability to review project deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance with established project standards
  • Experience interfacing with developers and external 3rd party vendors
  • Experience developing test cases, test scripts, and test data from business requirements
  • Experience executing and managing manual tests and defect tracking
  • Experience working concurrently with multiple code baselines
  • Experience and knowledge of testing methodologies/approaches and best practices
  • Experience with test management tools (e.g. Oracle Test Manager, etc.)
  • Experience in functional and technical specification documentation

Job Skills:
  • Oracle Test Manager or equivalent test management tool
  • Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to think outside the box
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and quality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills
  • Preferred Skills/Experience: PeopleSoft (Campus Solutions, CRM, Portal), VMWare, Oracle Database / SQL Commands, Higher Education Industry Experience

  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of time
  • Travel via plane, car, and public transportation may be required to perform this job
  • Must have the flexibility to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
