Accounts Payable Associate is responsible to the Payroll and Accounting Supervisor and processes accounts payables for the college. This position also monitors all purchase orders and encumbrances, in addition to maintaining the accounts payable files.

Basic Responsibilities:

Process and maintain accounts payable, liabilities and vendor invoices.

Communicate with employees and outside vendors regarding accounts payable in an efficient and professional manner.

Maintain an accurate filing system for accounts payable and liabilities.

Work closely with the other accounts payable staff member and support each other in servicing all accounts payable functions.

Maintain college compliance with State and Federal regulations related to vendor payments, including issuance of yearly 1099 forms.

Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Payroll and Accounting Supervisor.

Position Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional course work in accounting or bookkeeping preferred.

Minimum of two years work experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and/or accounts payable.

Good organizational skills, aptitude for figures and attention to detail required.

Accurate keyboarding and data entry skills required.

Experience with accounting software programs desired.

Familiarity with fund accounting policies and procedures preferred.
