Job Description: This position will provide a full-range of legal and administrative support for the seven attorneys in the Office of University Counsel. Primary responsibilities involve: maintaining the University Policy Manual, to include reviewing policies for basic consistency with federal and state law and other policies, regulations and rules of ECU and the University of North Carolina, facilitating the policy approval process, and maintaining the University Policy Manual site; assists in managing the office's electronic records system, to include training of other employees in its use, filing and retrieving documents, and ensuring compliance with document storage compliance requirements; and coordinating contract management within the office by tracking and facilitating intake, assignment, and associated follow on actions among attorneys and institutional stakeholders, to includes some initial analysis of basic contracts. Other duties include: coordinating responses to public records requests, subpoenas, transactional due diligence, and responses to discovery and other litigation support; drafting correspondence, meeting materials, and office reports; and providing general office support such as intermittently answering calls, managing calendars and regulatory deadlines, , handling confidential and sensitive information, and other duties as assigned by the University Counsel and Vice Chancellor for Legal Affairs. Requires compliance with the professional conduct and ethics expectations of a legal office, including but not limited to, maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.
Minimum Qualifications: Completion of an accredited paralegal program or equivalent combination of experience and education.

This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the Journey level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.
Salary Grade Equivalent: 69 (for reduction-in-force priority purposes only)
