The College of Engineering and Applied Science Engineering Student Services Center (ESSC) has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Student Services Coordinator position.

Job Summary:

Jobs in this career family provide direct professional support for the teaching and/or educational service mission of the university. Functions include academic advising/counseling, student personnel administration, recruitment and admissions, registration, financial aid, faculty affairs, library services, curriculum administration, and others involving direct support of the educational mission of an academic unit.

Professionals at the intermediate level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.

At the intermediate level, duties may be more limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals.

Position Emphasis:

The Engineering Student Services Center (ESSC) provides academic resources, professional development advice, and community building experiences for engineering students. The center has four faculty advisors in the major disciplines of civil, computer science, electrical and mechanical engineering. This Student Services Coordinator will provide academic and administrative services in the support of the educational service mission of the ESSC and the college. Responsibilities include reviewing and implementing academic processes and procedures; interpreting or guiding decisions on academic support procedures and issues; managing the day-to-day operations and logistics of the ESSC, assisting with college-wide outreach and recruitment activities; representing the college on various academic support committees; and servings as a first point of contact for visitors and guests of the ESSC.

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring salary for this position is $34,106 - $40,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, educational administration or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience developing and implementing work processes and internal policies and procedures
  • At least one year of professional level experience in office administration/coordination, with responsibilities in areas such as student services and event management


Substitutions: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Conditions of Employment:

Must be willing and able to work occasional weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution
  • Experience providing student services in an academic setting.
  • Experience with CU-SIS, DARS, SAN or similar student information systems
