Degree and Area of Specialization: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Music Education, Arts Administration, Music, or related field.



Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience: - 5 or more years of experience in music education, arts administration, or music
- Successful experience planning and coordinating programs or events
- Knowledge of music, including the audition process
- Experience working on educational programs for middle and/or high school students preferred
- Experience working with youth and parents is preferred



Position Summary: This position serves as director of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Summer Music Clinic, a program that for almost 90 years has provided 800 middle and high school students from Wisconsin and across the country an opportunity to build their performance skills in band, orchestra, choir, musical theater and jazz ensembles as they work with nationally recognized educators. This position also administers the Winds of Wisconsin program, a premiere youth wind ensemble that meets weekly during the fall and spring.



Additional Information: We are seeking an individual to join our precollege and noncredit Arts program teams within the Department of Liberal Arts & Applied Studies (LAAS) in the Division of Continuing Education (DCS) at UW-Madison. The Music Clinic Director will work closely with the precollege coordinator. While the focus of this position is the Summer Music Clinic, there may also be opportunities to assist other precollege programs in fall and spring.

This is a 2 year position, with the possibility of converting to a renewable position in the future if funding permits.

This position is part-time, however, may be expanded in the future depending on program growth and department needs.
