The Associate Dean will join the College's leadership team at a time of growing optimism and opportunities for robust development. This position, new in the history of the College, will be situated in the Office of the Dean of the College of Education. The Associate Dean for DEI will facilitate the development of programs, policies, and practices to promote critical understandings of diversity and equity issues across the college, local community, state, and nation.

In particular, the College seeks to hire a candidate who is committed to collaborating in the advancement of equity, diversity, and justice in teaching, learning and research; helping create equitable education initiatives for all students, faculty, administration, and staff; focusing on historically and currently underserved populations; and establishing practices that support the rights of all students and linking inclusion and diversity to excellence through transformative policies and practices.

The Associate Dean will strive to enhance diversity among students, faculty, and staff in part by working to recruit and retain a richly diverse student, staff, faculty, and administrative college community. The Associate Dean will also be charged with supporting statewide community partnerships as they are built by and with faculty, staff, students, families, school districts, public and private schools.
